Dear Theophilus Archive: Sept. 2001Welcome...By Pastor Paul Kim I am thankful for each of you who visited our Sunday service and hope that it was a worshipful and friendly experience. I know our church can be a little intimidating and impersonal, especially during September when we have many visitors, but I sincerely want to welcome you to our church with the love of Christ. Because people can easily get lost in the crowd, I especially encourage you to join one of our small groups. I believe this is where people form bonds of trust and accountability, receive personal attention from a small group shepherd, as well as do some in-depth bible study. I also encourage you to get involved in ECF (Emmanuel College Fellowship), the Phileo group (for young adults), or our married couples fellowship, and perhaps consider serving in one of our many ministries or committees if the Lord so leads. Specific details and contacts can be found in your Sunday bulletin or on our website (www.emmanuelchurch.net), and you can always feel free to call me at church. The Emmanuel English Congregation has a vision to raise our generation to reach the world for the glory of God. I see both tremendous need and potential in our generation. By the grace of God, I want to see a generation that may have dropped out of church be transformed into powerful agents of His gospel and love. It has been exciting to see how God has worked in the past, and I am again excited about what God will do this coming year. Whether you choose to come to Emmanuel or to another church, I hope the Lord will lead you to a body where you can grow in His likeness and serve His kingdom. Thank you again for visiting us, and may the Lord bless you. |
