Dear Theophilus:: September 2003

Meet and greet: Chris Lee

Hello! My name is Christopher Lee and I am a senior at Penn. I hail from Franklin Square, a small town in Long Island, NY. I am living in the Grad Towers (Sansom West) this year, after three glorious and fun-filled years in the Quad. I'm a psychology major who wants to go into marketing or advertising after I graduate. Some of my interests include computers, guitar, photography, and making other people groan with my corny humor. :

As for this coming year, I am looking forward to having an awesome year in every aspect. I have a great desire to see ECF grow and to watch its members become blessed. I would like to see each and every member take ownership of the fellowship by joining committees, volunteering their time and effort, and participating in various other ways. To quote Lilo and Stitch, "Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten." I pray that ECF can become a strong ohana that makes everyone who comes out feel welcome and comfortable.

One of the biggest personal lessons that I've learned in college is that with a little more effort, so much more can be achieved. Looking at ECF, I know that if the members put in a little more effort, we as a fellowship can revolutionize the way we praise, fellowship, and walk with God. I hope to encourage my fellow brothers and sisters throughout the year to take the initiative and run that extra step. As Thomas Edison once said, "One percent inspiration, 99 percent perspiration."

Finally, some words for the freshmen: You're beginning the best four years of your life, but believe me, the time will fly by, so make the most of each and every opportunity you encounter. Also, college is one of the best times to grow as a Christian, so don't forget to use all the resources you have around you to make your freshman year a blessing and God-glorifying one. If you have questions about anything or want to talk over a meal (my treat!), e-mail me at cl2@sas.upenn.edu. Good luck with freshman year!
