Dear Theophilus:: September 2003

Meet and greet: Victor Suh

Introduction: Hi, I'm Victor Suh and I am currently a senior at Penn. Here's a list of some of my personal favorites: Washington sports teams, Caedmon's Call, pickle juice, ESPN SportsCenter, basketball, American history, tofu, honesty, down time, and the beautiful state of Virginia-"birthplace of presidents."

Personal vision: To me, a fellowship is where everybody feels welcome, cared for, and comfortable enough to be real, regardless of their pasts, their campuses, or whatever "levels" they feel they're at. Lately, I've been uplifted a lot by people in ECF who really care about making that vision a reality and who are taking action. They sacrifice their time, energy, and resources for others; strive to live with integrity; and always demonstrate a desire to lend a helping hand. I want a fellowship where people sincerely serve one another and shine their light to all.

Why officer: Being an officer puts you behind the scenes for many ECF events-helping set up programs and games, or taking care of administrative tasks. With that, I think you see a clear illustration of man's responsibility under God's sovereignty. The outcome and effectiveness of anything we do as a church is ultimately in God's hands, but we are to pour ourselves into that work as well. Being an officer is just a way of serving, which I highly encourage everyone to do in whatever way they feel moved. It is such a privileged vantage point when it comes to seeing God moving and doing his work, both in individual people and on a wider scale.

Advice to the froshies: Study. Get to know people in your class and be willing to learn through others.
