Acquire The Fire: "Live God Loud"Title: Live God Loud
"Live God Loud is the answer to image. Live God Loud is: when you care about what God thinks, not what people think. Live God Loud is when: what you wear, what you own, and how you look, is less important than who you are, how you live, and your purpose in life. Live God Loud is not about obeying a commercial. It's about obeying God. I will Live God Loud." I like these guys. And I really like their music. Recorded live at "Teen Mania" events begining from June 2000, the sound is most definately alive and energized. It kind of reminds me of Passion but aimed at a younger audience. Make no mistake, this CD is NOT only for youth group kids. Their sound is mature, but with youthful zeal. The listener not only hears the praise band, but there is what sounds like a choir singing with them. The title track "Live God Loud" begins like a locomotive. The drums begin slow but there is anticipation because there is power in a life sold-out for Christ - the power of God. "Come together, turn up the volume; And let's take this world by storm; No more bowing to idols; Stand up with a shield and sword..." This song is an appropriate anthem to a generation that desires a new revolution and lives radically transformed by the Gospel. This CD contains some very familiar songs you've heard elsewhere. "Hungery, Falling on My Knees" features a female voice that sounds exactly like the one from the UK Hungry CD. "Your Love Oh Lord" is the Third Day cover that actually works as a praise song - but then again, we here at Emmanuel have been singing this song for awhile. "Here I Am" is the Paul Oakley song that actually sounds better, in my humble opinion, here than on the original. My favorite has to be "Lord I Give You Me", a prayerful song that has a powerful chorus...."Lord I give You me, Lord with every breath; I'll worship you in life, I'll worship you in death; I lay down my heart, it's all I have to give; As long as I live...." I predict we will be sing this song at our Missions Conference 2001 this winter or in the very near future. This one is a keeper.
