Change My Heart Oh God "Piano"Title: Change My Heart Oh God: Piano
The first place I looked in my search for edifying background music was in the genre of classical music. Unfortunately, I found that few classical CD compilations are actually calm. I was jolted a few times when I found the composer expressing his dramatic side in many of these CDs. For example, while Chopin might have been a brilliant composer, the CD of Chopin pieces that I listened to sounded... dark and heavy. It did not help create the tranquil atmosphere I'd like to have in my QT's or studying sessions. Some parts were light but then they went right back to "dark and heavy". It was kind of scary. However, I found that the songs on "Change My Heart, O God", had a very different effect and, for this specific purpose, were superior to most classical music. They not only helped me feel peaceful, but because they are such familiar tunes, I was able to meditate on the words of the songs as they played in the background without the distraction of actually hearing the words audibly. (One warning: if you are prone to falling asleep when you hear soft music, then perhaps this is not the best praying/studying CD for you. But overall, I would definitely recommend this CD as an excellent and worship-inspiring instrumental music collection.
