Katherine Lee Memorial Fund

Katherine's company (IRI) has made a generous donation in Katherine's name to Emmanuel Church to honor her memory. We decided that the most appropriate way to remember Katherine would be to set up a fund to be used for things that were dear to Katherine's heart: children and missions. Many of us knew of how much Katherine gave of herself to serve, teach and love children, particular in our Sunday School program. Many of us also knew that Katherine had a very generous spirit and a burden to see others come to know Christ.

To honor Katherine's memory, the majority of this fund would be given as an annual scholarship(s) to student(s), college or graduate, who lovingly and faithfully serve the children as an Emmanuel English Congregation Sunday School teacher. A second portion of the fund would be given to the English Congregation Missions Committee to be administered to worthwhile missions work.

The funds will be placed in a dividend and income growing instruments where the interest/dividend and a portion of the principle will be used for these two purposes. The fund will be managed to deplete in 15 to 20 years.

We plan to award the scholarship(s) and remember Katherine each year at our Commissioning Service, the first Sunday of May.

Many of us dearly miss our old friend, but we are thankful for the life that she lived and the Lord whom she served. We pray that God would use this fund and Katherine's memory to encourage and inspire us to live for His greater Kingdom.
